    happy vesak day to all! although my dad is buddhist, i dont think he is aware of this day ... hmmm ... heh~

    guess what i did or FORCE to do today? watch 2 hours of little kids TRYING to play music.

    it was a hilarious and mocking experience.

    my sister (12 years old) performed together with some 3-6 years old kids. thank goodness for radio dubbing, cuz the little kids are most of the time 'frightened/crying' or 'waving to their parents' or 'jumping on the stage' or 'pressing the keyboards wrongly at the wrong time, hence spoiling the music'

    i have nothing against the little kids, they are awfully adorable and all~ some of them are really pretty and handsome and cute and lovely with their gowns and bow ties. but i find that the whole setting is very demeaning. the little kids are unaware of the whole situation, parents (which made up the audience) simply take photos, walk about the auditorium, waves to their kids (forcing the kids to wave back and not concentrate on their performance) ... not giving the whole event any sort of respect for music, what happen to the real meaning behind this whole event?! i think the music school got to do more in terms of showcasing 'their talents' ... not in this kind slip-shod way ... show the public, really that their music programmes are doing wonders to these kids ... practice makes perfect?

    my mother laughed throughout the event, pointing out to me the 'silly' things the kids did on stage ... i was in my 'bad girl' mode. i lamented continuously and audibly about how each performance was BAD, non-class, degrading ... i think some of the kids parents heard me ... heh~ plus, i dont understand why some of the kids actually CRY on stage? are they even aware of STAGE FRIGHT? plus, some of the kids DONT even play any music on stage, just stand there while the radio dubber rendered the whole music and the kids look around 'blur-ly'

    i ask my mum whether i'm that silly when i'm young, she say "no" ...
    "yay me!" *snort* :D (oh fine, the ego in me bursting out again)

    i mention before i LOVE musicians right? but not all sort of musicians tho, i believe that if one can put so much into their music, then that one person has ...

    1. emotions, feelings, imaginations, creativity, entrepreneurship, dexterity
    2. responsibility, passion, determination, hardwork, strength, disciplined
    3. love, integrity, confidence, truth
    criterions that make a good hubby?? hehe .. PERHAPS IS TRUE?!

    oh! i also realised that most of the kids parents are PRETTY OLD! comparable to my mum! just highlight the fact that singaporeans are marrying at too old an age! the fathers especially, plenty of white hair and wrinkles, guysss ... so sad :/ take care of your looks man! dont want to look like the grandfather of your little princesses do you?

    i remembered last time, at indo, under MS KIENRY, she is really a great teacher, her students are very disciplined and responsible for the music they played ... freedom is there for us to explore, yet we are clearly aware at our age *all younger than 10 yrs old* what is good music and what it means to have good techniques for the music we played ... i'm thankful that thru her guidance, i am able to appreciate music as it is now (:

    oh oh! thank goodness the songs they played on stage are songs i'm familiar with, i sang along phantom of the opera, moon river, song of music and other likes ... i think i sang quite loudly too (: bliss~

    *poof*

    who want to watch shrek 3 with me?

     - I guess this is a beautiful mistake too...# ;
